Why did Ronaldinho withdraw from football?

Former soccer star: "The magician is back": Ronaldinho back in Brazil

The two arrived at the international airport in the metropolis of Rio de Janeiro, as reported by Brazilian television. "The magician is back," shouted a fan, journalists surrounded Ronaldinho. He and Assis had spent almost half a year in prison and under house arrest in a hotel in the Paraguayan capital, Asunción. Two days earlier, the brothers had been released from house arrest against payment of around 170,000 euros. They returned to Rio in a private plane. Ronaldinho and Assis had given the city on the Sugar Loaf as their permanent place of residence in court. If you change this in the next twelve months, you must report this to the Paraguayan judiciary. The two-time world footballer and world champion from 2002 and his brother were caught with false Paraguayan identification documents shortly after entering Paraguay in early March. According to Ronaldinho, business partners had given them the passports on arrival. He did not know that the ID cards were illegal - this argument was also adopted by the defense and, ultimately, the public prosecutor's office. Ronaldinho's brother, on the other hand, knew about it.

Ronaldinho, a former professional from FC Barcelona and AC Milan, among others, spent 32 days - including his 40th birthday - in prison. In April, he and Assis were released from house arrest on bail equivalent to 1.47 million euros. Since then they had waited for the further proceedings in the hotel.
