Why does Ayurveda still exist?

1. Short journey for your Ayurveda cure in Europe

Travel increases the Vata Dosha. Vata is one of the three doshas that determine our life. Dosha can also be translated as energy type or basic energy. The three types of energy are called Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Pitta stands for the fiery and Kapha is the structural principle that grounds that. Vata stands for airiness, lightness and restlessness.
Travel brings the Vata Dosha out of balance, it is heightened, which leads to more restlessness in people. That is why short arrivals and departures are always preferable to a long-haul flight to Asia. Most people in Europe already have an elevated Vata Dosha by default. That just brings our way of life with it. Computer work, too little exercise, too little sleep, too much television, smart phones, all of these increase Vata enormously. A Panchakarma cure or Ayurveda cure can now calm down the Vata Dosha and bring it back to its original level. And then it is good if the Vata Dosha is not increased further on the way to the cure.
Stress relief with Ayurveda
An Ayurveda regimen is always aimed at cleansing the body and relieving stress. This works just as well in Asia as it does in Europe, but the time change wipes out a large part of the success of the course. The first time change is necessary when you arrive in Asia. Since you are pampered in the Ayurveda Resort and can rest a lot, this burden is not so noticeable. The stress that has arisen from the long flight and the long immobility is also relieved by the cure. But the positive effects are longer in coming, as the Vata Dosha really went up again shortly before the start of the treatment.

2. Sudden heat and humidity

Ayurveda cures are often booked in India or Sri Lanka during the European winter time. If you don't like the cold, wet winter, you will be happy about light, sun and warmth. And unfortunately does not realize how exhausting this change is for the body. Because the heat in Asia can be extremely humid and requires a lot of energy, which is usually perceived as fatigue. A large part of Ayurvedic treatment is first used to ensure that the body is in transition. Instead of the necessary colon cleansing, a changeover phase is necessary first. Anyone who stays in Europe and its usual climate can enjoy the beneficial and detoxifying effects of an Ayurvedic cure from day one.

3. European standard - you can rely on it

Ayurveda has developed strongly in Europe in recent years. If you want to convince with Ayurveda, you need the best Ayurveda doctors and therapists. There are now many institutes in Europe that train highly qualified doctors and therapists. The quality of training is outstanding and guarantees all patients a level of security that is not easy to find in the rest of the world. There are many stories of Ayurveda seekers returning sick from Asia. Therefore a European training of Ayurvedic practitioners is of great importance. And finally, when it comes to treatment, it is good if you can express yourself in your mother tongue.

4. The pharmacy law applies

A few years ago, Ayurvedic medicines fell into disrepute when the German Spiegel magazine reported on heavy metals in Ayurvedic food supplements. That was certainly a sad exception, but it is still good to know that in Europe only herbs, food supplements and oils that comply with the pharmacy laws of the respective country may be used. This is a guarantee that protects you from unwanted poisoning.
The popular Ashwagandha, which is bought and consumed very often, must be enjoyed in the best quality. Only in this way can it develop its rejuvenating effect. This is where the pharmacy law in your country protects you from harmful effects.

5. Regional products are better tolerated

Exotic fruits and aromatic vegetables on the plate are a highlight in Asia! Those who love Asian cuisine may be considering taking an Ayurveda cure in India or Sri Lanka for that reason alone. But unfortunately this is also not a good argument for going the long way. Local fruits and vegetables, appropriate to the season, are much more easily metabolized by the body. So there is much more energy left to complete the strenuous cleansing cure in the Ayurveda center. The success of the therapy is quicker if the body only has to process what it is prepared for.
Anyone who would like to continue cooking with Ayurvedic recipes at home will be grateful if they have learned about recipes made from ingredients that they can also buy locally during the treatment. What use are the most unusual spices if you can't get them at home? The desire to continue cooking Ayurvedic quickly disappears. That is a shame, because cooking at home according to Ayurvedic recipes allows the success of an Ayurveda treatment to last for a long time.
Here you can find out more about our Ayurveda cuisine.

6. The return flight eats up the success of the cure

After two or three weeks of colon cleansing, purification and detox in Asia, now comes the long journey home! Since traveling increases the Vata Dosha, a long flight combined with a lot of waiting time, sitting for too long and being immobile is counterproductive. The relaxing effect of an Ayurveda cure is almost used up on the return journey. Most people do not even notice it, but the success of the treatment declines noticeably faster than after an Ayurveda treatment at home.
Already on the return flight, the Vata Dosha increases again significantly. The seat of Vata is assigned to the abdomen. If one now sits motionless for a long time, Vata increases greatly. This can be expressed directly as gas or a slightly cramped stomach or through subsequent sleep disorders, restlessness and nervousness. It is the exact opposite of what Ayurvedic treatments are supposed to achieve. As soon as you get home, you should actually have to do an Ayurveda treatment again. But this time better in Europe!

7. Sustainable with Ayurveda in Europe

Long air journeys are not only very stressful for the body, they are also harmful to the climate. The journey to a European destination can often be accomplished by train, many hotels and establishments pick up their guests at the train station. That relaxes and protects the environment. Enjoy your Ayurveda cure from day one.
