How is the new Apple MacBook

MacBook Air 2021: This is what Apple is preparing for the redesign

In 2008, then Apple CEO Steve Jobs pulled the first MacBook Air out of an envelope and surprised the world with the thinnest notebook yet. A lot of time has passed since then and Apple has changed very little in the familiar look. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple is working on a redesign.

MacBook Air 2021: Lots of power in a compact design

The new MacBook Air (2021) could stand out from its predecessors, especially visually. The leaker Jon Prosser assumes that Apple is moving away from the wedge design and giving it a more angular appearance. At the same time, the company could offer multiple colors inspired by the new 24 "iMac.

According to Gurman, however, the new design could only be used for a higher-end MacBook Air, which he expects towards the end of the year. Apple should not use an M1 chip in the model either. Instead, the successor with the code name "Staten" is used, which should not have more CPU cores than the M1, but still output a higher performance. Gurman anticipates a higher number of GPU cores for the graphics unit. Apple could rely on nine or even ten cores, which provide a further boost. "Staten" could also replace the M1 chip in the base model of the 13 "MacBook Pro and thus again allow a better performance difference between the entry-level models of MacBook Air and 13" MacBook Pro.

Based on the leaks so far, Apple should also bring back MagSafe as a charging port and could finally introduce the 1080p FaceTime HD camera, which the 24 "iMac recently received. It is also assumed that Apple will grow the display by widening the edge The keyboard could also be reworked, which Prosser says will be white in the future.
