Some characters die in the series even though they stay alive in the original - and vice versa. We have the most important deviations of the "Game of Thrones" series from the novels by George R.R. Martin collected.

In the series: After she was murdered during the Red Wedding, Catelyn (Michelle Fairley) also remains dead. Just as one would expect.

In the book: Catelyn's already badly damaged body is found in the river by the Brotherhood Without Banners and brought back to life by Beric Dondarrion and Priest Thoros. From then on she calls herself Lady Stoneheart and acts as the new leader of the brotherhood. As this she takes cruel revenge on all Frey soldiers who cross her path. The producers have already ruled out that there will be this twist later in the series. The Angel of Revenge plot largely went to her youngest daughter, Arya.
