Does Zapier have a free plan

Workspace management

You can use the free version of Slack for as long as you want, and there is no limit to the number of members that can be invited, but there are a few usage limits to consider:

  • Visible messages
Only the last 10,000 messages can be viewed and searched.
  • File storage
You have up to 5 GB of storage space available for files in your workspace.
  • Apps
You can install up to 10 third-party or custom apps.

Tip: Upgrading to a paid plan removes the limits on messages and apps and increases your workspace's storage limit for files

Â

Members are allowed to send unlimited messages in Slack, but only the most recent 10,000 messages can be viewed and searched in your workspace. Remember, you can only view messages on the public / private channels you are a part of and in your direct messages when you search for them

If your workspace exceeds the viewable message limit, members can still send messages, but older messages are archived. When you upgrade your workspace to a paid plan, all archived messages become available again.

What counts as a message

In general, anything typed in the message field and sent to a channel or direct message counts as a message. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • A one-word message or a single emoji is counted in the same way as a message with 500 words and several paragraphs.
  • Links, snippets, posts, uploaded files, replies in a thread, messages in archived channels, and messages from bot users all count towards the total number of messages sent in your workspace.

Note:Deleted messages, Slackbot messages, and messages you send to your personal DMs do not count towards the message limit.

Â

With the free plan, workspaces have up to 5 GB of storage for files. Everything that is uploaded to a channel or a direct message (e.g. PDFs, documents, images, screenshots, audio and video files) counts towards this limit.

When your workspace reaches the limit, members can still upload files, but Slack will start archiving the oldest files to make room for new ones. Members cannot view archived files in channels, direct messages, or search results.

Like messages, archived files become instantly available again when you upgrade to a paid plan. When you upgrade, the storage limits for files are determined by the total number of members (including multi-channel guests) in your workspace:

  • 10 GB per member in the Standard plan
  • 20 GB per member in thePlus plan

Note: Deleted files and files added to Slack through apps (such as Google Drive and Dropbox) do not count towards the storage limit.

Workspace members on a free plan can install up to 10 apps. The apps from the Slack app directory and custom apps specially developed for your team are counted towards this limit

When the limit has been reached, you can uninstall apps to make room for new ones. Alternatively, you can upgrade to a paid plan so you can install as many apps as you want
